Quick Guidance to Troubleshoot Printer Related Problems
Printers are peripheral devices which allow you to take prints (hardcopies) of electronically stored documents. Sharing a printer reduces the wastage of time and makes the work efficient. Operating a printer is not a hard task.
The first printer was invented in 19th century by Charles Babbage to use with his Difference engine. Printers are classified into groups based on the technology they use. Each technology has different costs, print quality, printing speed and noise. There are various types of printers such as liquid inkjet printers; Toner based printers, Solid ink printers, Thermal printers and UV printers.
Printers can also be shared if you are using a computer network. Printers have a list of common problems. These common problems can be resolved. But it’s always better to get help from the technicians because if you mess up with your printer settings then you will have to waste time to repair that also. So what are the common problems which you could face with a printer?
- Problem with Paper Jam
When the paper is being printed or loading the paper gets stuck and wraps around the paper spool. It also gets stuck with other moving parts. This will terminate the whole printing process. You have to get that jammed paper out of the machine. So power–off your printer. Remove the papers which aren’t jammed. Remove the print head or open the door (This differs for printers).Try to get the paper out gently. It doesn’t matter if the paper tears off.
- Ink Smearing and Leaking problems
You may have noticed the following situation. When you have taken your print, it will have more ink smeared on it than expected to be. This will destroy the document. This may be a problem with the ink cartridge. You can clean the cartridge and use it again. But if it continues to leak then you should replace your ink cartridge
- Printer Freezing Problems
At times your printer must have stopped responding. This may happen due to the problems with your computer. There may be a quiet long queue of documents waiting to be printed. Abort all of those prints and re-initiate them.
