Choosing a laptop depends on your purposes. Laptops are available with various configurations. You can choose a laptop based on your occupation, education and etc. Nowadays laptops are available in various prices and sizes.

But always be careful while purchasing it because there are lots of fake products which look alike to the original ones. Always get a warranty for your laptops and ensure the hardware and software configuration. Laptops must have a quiet a long life span. If not there is no reason in purchasing it.

Are you a school student? Then you might need a laptop. A Notebook will be much more suitable students because it’s handier than laptops and they have all the configurations of a laptop. The difference between a laptop and a notebook is the monitor size. But the notebook’s display is more than enough.

What about the RAM? Well the RAM should be 2GB or above that. It’s because the latest versions of software require this. They won’t accept a 1GB RAM. The Hard Disk should be minimum 320 GB or more than that. You won’t know how much data you would have to save in your PC. The minimum processor speed should be 2 GHz. 2GHz is an enough speed even for games. Go for Intel processors. They are good in quality and reasonable in price. Don’t forget to consider the battery life. You are from a school and you can’t charge your laptop while you are busy. While purchasing the laptop, check if you are getting a power cord, adapter, System Restore CD, Driver CD and etc.

There are various famous laptop manufacturers such as HP, Toshiba, Acer, Lenovo and etc. After you have purchased your desired laptop the rest depends on how you use it.

If you give proper care and maintenance you will be able to use your laptop for a long time. If you have a service center nearby then give your laptop for an annual service.
